We have an exciting opportunity to take a group to Charleston, SC August 16-18 to volunteer with a First Baptist Greensboro ministry partner, Metanoia. Bill Stanfield grew up in Greensboro and was shaped in his faith by our church. He started Metanoia in 2003 in an underserved neighborhood in North Charleston. That included moving to the neighborhood with his family and taking an “asset-based” approached to the community’s needs by focusing on the strengths and gifts already existing in the community. It will be a great opportunity to both serve and learn more about this innovative ministry.
