This summer, our VBS kids are on an adventure to learn about and make a difference for schools and education, both locally and globally. Through partnerships with Guilford Education Alliance in Greensboro and Aaron and Emily Holmes serving with Teach Beyond in Mauritius, our children will be participating in projects that benefit these wonderful missions.

Guilford Education Alliance (GEA) is an independent nonprofit that galvanizes the community in support of quality public education for all students. They ENGAGE community members, ADVOCATE for critical issues to support public education, SUPPORT teachers and students, and COLLABORATE with people and organizations to connect community resources with the needs of Guilford County Schools.

Aaron and Emily Holmes, members of FBC, are serving in Mauritius, off the east coast of Africa, at Lighthouse Primary and Secondary School in partnership with the Teach Beyond program. Aaron is a secondary English and Humanities teacher and Emily is providing mental health support. Lighthouse provides scholarships to 20-30% of its students, ensuring that high-quality education is available to students regardless of their ability to pay.
