“And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the good news to the whole creation.” Mark 16:15
This year our Christmas Eve offering will be traveling 5,712 miles to Romania to support the ministry of Alex Lucian Ghita and Project Ruth.
Introducing Alex Lucian Ghita: Alex and his wife Manu have two children: Lucas, five and Eliza, four. They live in the village of Stoborasti, Romania where he serves as pastor at the local Baptist Church and also ministers in several nearby mission churches: Tufeni, Icoana, and Floru. Additionally, Alex serves as the Student Coordinator for Project Ruth.
A crucial piece of his ministry is transportation. He is currently relying on the good will of family and church members to help him get to the many churches in which he serves and leads worship. First Baptist Church wants to purchase a station wagon to help Alex in his responsibility and ministry to those in Romania.
First Baptist Church will also use a portion of the Christmas Eve offering for the ministry of Project Ruth. The Ruth School is committed to giving education to the marginalized and disadvantaged children, especially those from Roma (Gypsy) families. This past year FBC sent forty youth to minister through music and fellowship to the people of Romania. The youth were involved in leading day camps with Roma Children of the Ruth School. FBC has become a ministry partner with those in Romania. This Christmas Eve offering will help to take the Gospel and love of Christ to our brothers and sisters in Romania.
