Greetings from Dallas, TX!
Sarah and I settled into an apartment in East Dallas at the beginning of July after an exhausting two day trek west. Thankfully all of our things arrived safely and without much damage, including our dog, Leo!
Sarah has completed her first few weeks at Ruth Cherry Intermediate School in Royse City, TX – about thirty minutes east of where we live. She is having a blast teaching fifth and sixth grade general music and chorus all week long.
Classes have just begun at Perkins School of Theology on the campus of Southern Methodist University. I have entered into the Master of Sacred Music program studying under Dr. C. Michael Hawn, a true leader and expert in his field. FBC Greensboro was fortunate to have him at this summer’s Worship in the Arts camp!
I also began working at Highland Park United Methodist church on August 1st as the music intern. HPUMC is located on the campus of SMU and continues to be such a welcoming and inspiring place to worship and learn.
I am excited for the coming years here in Dallas and know that the heritage and growth I experienced at First Baptist Church of Greensboro have played a pivotal role in discerning my call into ministry.
Grace and peace, Taylor
May God continue to bless you and Sarah, Taylor…and hold you close. Marty and I truly enjoyed out time in DFW in the 80s (dinosaurs roamed…) and we pray that you have many opportunities for day trips to the Hill Country and general good time with each other and friends.
Grace and peace! Jan Hill
