After serving with us another year as a Music Ministry Intern, we’re excited to have Baker with us through the summer serving across the scope of our ministries. Baker graduated from UNC-G this year, and has begun a Ministry Fellowship at First Baptist Church. Beginning formally in the Fall, Baker will serve as FBC Ministry Fellow through the 2018-2019 academic year. This Fellowship will be a subset of the Pastoral Residency program, providing an opportunity between undergraduate and seminary education for someone who is discerning a call to ministry. Baker will have housing in the Resident House on Adams Street, and he will serve our congregation part-time, while also pursing his passion for teaching.

His work with First Baptist will be focused in music ministry, but he will also continue to gain experience broadly in the work of pastoral ministry. This arrangement allows FBC to spend the next year making plans for the future of our Pastoral Residency, while also especially benefiting from Baker’s talents next January and February, as he will lead in our music ministry while Doug and Terri Vancil are on sabbatical. It’s an exciting time in Baker’s life, as he and Addison were married on May 19th, and we’re equally excited to be a church family for Addison and Baker in these early days of marriage.
