After our third long, hot day of work in the Nicholtown Community in Greenville, SC, we were treated to an appreciation meal and concert at FBC Greenville.
Making our hearts sing with his music, our friend Kyle Matthews shared some songs that speak of faith and truth, and reminded us that God gives each of us gifts for a reason. He talked about how, through our presence this week, we were living out 1 Corinthians 12:4-7 which says:
God’s various gifts are handed out everywhere; but they all originate in God’s Spirit. God’s various ministries are carried out everywhere; but they all originate in God’s Spirit. God’s various expressions of power are in action everywhere; but God himself is behind it all. Each person is given something to do that shows who God is: Everyone gets in on it, everyone benefits.
And then Kyle used his gifts to put it this way…
“The gifts I gave you, when I first made you, were meant to be used, so make yourself useful, to me!”
One more day. Let’s make it useful!
