October 4 – 6 | Black MountainĀ
FBC Greensboro families will travel to the Asheville area for a weekend of service and fellowship. Details for the weekend are as follows:
Friday Evening
Arrive on your own to the Blue Ridge Assembly in Black Mountain, NC. We will have a home cooked dinner that night for our group at 7 pm followed by group activities and a vespers service.
Saturday Morning
After breakfast and a morning gathering, we will head off to our worksites. These include:
- Black Mountain Home for Children;
- The John Wilson Community Garden;
Our priority will be to have families serving together at sites with tasks that they all can participate in. Lunch will be brought to your site. We hope to finish at the sites early afternoon to give families free time to enjoy activities at the Blue Ridge Assembly or other local attractions. Saturday evening will include another home cooked dinner, fun activities, and evening vespers.
Sunday Morning
We will enjoy breakfast together and a group gathering for prayer and reflections. After closing time together, families are free to leave or stay and enjoy some time in the mountains.
The cost per person is $100 with a cap of $300 per family and assistance is available. That covers all lodging and food for the weekend, though families can bring snacks and drinks to share.
