This week Greensboro is host to the 25th annual meeting of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship – First Baptist’s primary denominational partner. Through our connection with CBF, we are able to support global missions, theological education, advocacy for religious liberty, publishing and other common causes among Baptists. Just this year, First Baptist was named a top CBF church on their listing of “Generous Congregations.”

Visit the General Assembly this week, Wednesday, June 22 thru Friday, June 24, at the Koury Convention Center. There are workshops throughout the day, as well as worship services in the evening featuring nationally known preachers such as Tom Long and Diana Butler Bass.

Join Alan for the Business Session on Thursday morning at 9:30, where a new strategic model for Global Missions in CBF will be introduced. This has been the primary work of the Missions Council, which Alan served on and chaired this year. It’s an exciting way to mark 25 years of CBF’s existence, considering possibilities for the future.
