Dr. Mary Foskett joins us for an elective Sunday School option: “Taking Both the Bible and Inclusion Seriously.” The study is intended as a resource for our Congregation after the adoption of a statement of inclusion for our church, which was affirmed unanimously by our Deacons and shared in February’s Church Conference.
Dr. Mary Foskett is Wake Forest Kahle Professor and Chair of the Dept. for the Study of Religions at Wake Forest University. Her most recent publication is the Westminster Study Bible (2024) for which she served as a general editor and contributor. She and her husband, Scott Hudgins, are members of First Baptist on Fifth St. Winston-Salem, where she is a Sunday School teacher and member of the Sanctuary Choir.
