Wednesdays August 2, 9, and 16 from 5:30 – 7 pm in Room 102

If you’ve ever logged onto Facebook, sat around a Thanksgiving table, or worked with other people, you know that human beings aren’t perfect and we don’t always relate in healthy ways. While many of us want meaningful relationships (or at least less stressful family gatherings), we weren’t taught the skills we need to take Sunday’s sermon into Monday’s conference call. This three-series workshop, taught by Pastoral Intern Amelia, will offer practical guidance for faithfully living out our call to be peacemakers in a divided world. We’ll cover basic communication strategies, the potential of productive conflict, and guidelines for effective apologies and authentic forgiveness. Each workshop will include basic information, opportunities to practice, and plenty of time for questions and conversation. Our discussions are applicable for anyone who is a partner, friend, church-goer, or community member, and all skill levels are welcome! We hope to see you there!

  • August 2: Talk is Cheap: Communication Basics
  • August 9: Conflict Skills for Peacemakers
  • August 16: Powerful Apologies, Meaningful Forgiveness

All workshops will be held on Wednesdays at 5:30 – 7 pm. Let Amelia know you are coming by emailing her at amelia@fbcgso.org
