Zechariah’s Song: For This I am Thankful – Reflections of a Child of 10

Week 3, Day 16  |  December 14

What I am thankful for:

I am grateful for my family. I love them and they love me. I am thankful my parents gave me life and if I didn’t have a family, I would not know what to do. I am thankful for shelter so on rainy nights I am not out in the open and so I am warm in the winter. I am also happy to have a home to go to and feel safe and be with my family and keep my belongings. I am thankful to have food and water so I can be healthy and so I can stay strong. I can do more things with my life because I have these things to make me healthy. I know there are people who do not have enough food. I am thankful to be healthy and that my family is healthy. I am glad I have church so I can learn about God and what He did and so that I can meet people and spend time with them.  I like to learn Bible stories and sing and play instruments. I also like it when we do projects to help other people. I am appreciative of the ability to do activities which are not allowed some places or which some people do not have, like going to church, and being able to be educated. I am thankful that I am able to go to school and have curriculum and teachers to lead me there. I am happy to learn so that I can have a job someday.

Dear God, thank you for all of the gifts you have given us. Thank you for letting us be with you and for always being with us. Amen.
