Sunday, February 18

With the enthusiastic and unanimous support of the Personnel Committee and Pastor Alan Sherouse, as well as the affirmation of the Deacons, the Candidate for Associate Pastor: Missions & Community will be introduced to the congregation on Sunday, February 18. Materials on the Candidate have been distributed to church members by email and hard copies are available throughout the church. This part-time position focuses on Spiritual Formation, Teaching, Retreats, and other Special Events and Initiatives as part of our larger Pastoral Staff. For more on the place of this position within our staff team and ministry, see ourĀ “As We Go” transition plan.

On Sunday, there will be several opportunities to meet the Candidate:

  • 8:45 – Atrium Reception | A coffee hour meet-and-greet in the Atrium before Sunday School.
  • 9:20 – Q&A | During the Sunday School hour, all are welcome to the Fellowship Hall, where the Candidate will be introduced by members of Personnel and answer questions to tell us more about themselves, their journey of faith, and their approach to ministry.
  • 10:30 – Worship | The Candidate will share in leadership of our service, which will conclude with a formal vote to affirm them as Associate Pastor: Spiritual Formation.

We hope you’ll make plans to be a part of this exciting day in the life of First Baptist Greensboro and join in prayer and hope for the ministry ahead!
